A dark, empty arcade with its cabinets switched off.
The Virtual Games Room

Now playing: 1997.

Shuffleboard, bingo, Beat Saber on Easy with handrails, and a television in the corner that plays nothing but commercials from the 90s. On loop. Forever.
Commercial break

As seen on TV

The television in the Games Room plays the same reel of commercials between every bingo call. Residents have asked us to change it. Residents have also asked us never to change it. The second group is louder.

Overlapping compact discs catching rainbow reflections.

1,000 FREE HOURS!

A shiny disc arrives in your mailbox. Pop it in, plug in your modem and listen to the song of our people. Residents still have three hundred and forty of them, used as coasters.

Neon Goo-Splosion

It's pink! It's gooey! It won't stain your carpet! (It will. It is in the carpet now. It is part of the carpet.)

A glass of fizzy soda with ice.
The future of refreshment

Crystal Clear Lemon-Lime

It's not water. It's not cola. It's tomorrow. Pictured: the 1994 relaunch, after they quietly put the colour back. Residents are still upset.

Don't Copy That Avatar

A rap about ripped avatars, performed by a man in sunglasses and a turtleneck. Every resident knows every word, and will perform it unprompted.

Something for everyone

Games we play

Two empty outdoor shuffleboard courts under palm trees.

Shuffleboard

Physics enabled. Arguments enabled. A staff referee who has seen things.

Beat Saber on Easy, with handrails

The blocks come slowly. The handrails are on both sides. If you miss, the song waits for you.

Mirror-dwelling hour

An hour standing in front of a mirror with your friends, as is tradition. Now with lumbar support and a chair.

Rhythm games for the hard of hearing

The music is turned up. The tempo is turned down. Somebody asks "what?" every eight bars.

Thursdays at 7

Bingo night

The biggest night of the week. Cards are large print, the caller repeats every number twice, and the prize is a slightly better recliner for seven days.

Wooden bingo pieces with red numbers.
Thirty-one: your age. Seventy-three: your age in headset years.
